He would be stupid if he did
Pat Simmons said it happened and so did Alan Permain (witness X) and so did Piquet, they all said Briatore was in on it too.

Posturing by Flav to show he is a victim, not a chance in the world that he would pursue Piquet, there is way too much evidence against him.

Renault said they would support him until there own inhouse inquiry showed what it it did and Symonds even admitted that he had been involved and would forever regret his actions.

You will be lucky Flav if the FIA do not initiate criminal proceedings against you.

The FIA now needs to show clear intent and not allow Flavio to get away with this or it will make a mockery of this sport.

If Flavio does have evidence that Piquet tried to blackmail him he may have a case. Even if he loses he might want to do it just to expose more about Piquet's character.

I also want to know if any of the players in this face any charges in Singapore. I almost hope that Piquet does get a ride this year just to see what happens to him when he returns to the scene of the crime.

@ Mark

I think that with the statements made by the leading protaganists in this case he would only be setting himself up for a fall.

If Renault had thought they had half a chance to defend this they would have, because of the loss to their brands reputation moreso than defending Flav.

Piquet most likely did try to extort Flav, but it doesn't take away from the incident itself.

The caption for this photo should read :

"Now listen Nelson, you did great in Singapore and we've extended your contract but we need you to drop a couple of sleeping tablets into Hamiltons water bottle, if you do this we'll give you some new upgrades for your car to match Alonso."

Flav should get over this or its coming back to haunt him even more in the future. Renault also shares responsibility in the crashgate coz they protected Flav instead of dumping him long before the incident. There is absolutely nothing else that Flav can contribute to F1 with his despicable tactics and I doubt he is capable of changing his behavior and intentions this late in the game.
