F1 » Brawn: Schumacher will be F1 2010 World Champion

The limit on pre-season testing will likely prevent Michael Schumacher from triumphing in the curtain-raising Bahrain Grand Prix, admits Ross Brawn - but the most successful driver in the sport's history will go on to be crowned F1 World Champion again in 2010

It's funny how he is one of the only people who believes Schumacher will be WDC this year.

There are a few favourites of course, but it will ultimately depend on the cars. And it'll be harder for him to win compared to the rest of his career. Did he even win a championship after the cars were reduced from V10 to V8 engines?

And it wasn't Brawn who found Schumacher and put him in Benetton: it was Briatore.

Well, he should know.

The real queston is did Brawn stop developing the 2009 car and concentrate on 2010 long before anybody else ? If they did, and carry a similar advantage to this season, he has to be a Schu in for the title. (Sorry...)

However, the teams were very close and part of their advantage was the Double Diffuser, also, have you seen Rosberg's position in the fastest lap charts ? Like Hamilton, Schumacher has a very fast teammate for this year. I do wonder is Nico's reliability will dip if he gets too close, or, God forbid, in the way or in front.

It is shaping up to be a fascinating season, but my money is still on the most talented driver there is out there, Lewis.

I think Nico you have been served with your "Serve and Desist papers in bold letters". :)

Wonder what Ross says if young Nico is quicker than the old friend?... he probably shouldn't be putting this much pressure on Schumacher either.

Should be interesting round the Rosberg dinner table though with father Keke.

This just shows how much Ross Brawn screwed Jenson, clearly R Brawn knows that Schumi will on boars in 2010 way befor the end of the 2009 season and before the feake negotations with Button took place. It seems that the biggest looser is JB, but i hope he will have a decent title defence if not win the title again. Thia ia just low for Ross Brawn and i think a lot of people loss a bit of respect for him for what he has done to Button.

Well, that looks like Schumacher is the undisputed no.1 at Mercedes. No surprise there then. Hope Nico blows him away from the first race (if he is allowed to). This is the Brawn Ferrari mentality that I thought was gone last year with Jenson and Rubens but of course that was because Jenson was leading and his ex-Ferrari driver Rubens needed to catch up. Hopefully Nico will not become another lifetime second driver.
