F1 » Angry Schumi rejects claims he doesn't race fair

He has been back in the F1 spotlight for barely a month, but already Mercedes Grand Prix 2010 signing Michael Schumacher has found himself on the receiving end of some rather uncomfortable questions...

I can't understand why Schumi is critisised so much and Senna almost treated like a saint. Senna was an out and out cheat even going to the lengths of saying before a race that he was going to take out Prost if he was in front of him and then blatantly doing so. He didn't even get a penalty! Schumi got bans for a lot less.

Statistically

Does you poles and wins data include mechanical failures?

Does the data you have include the exclusion the FIA did on the points that SHUMI made.
Does any one else have such a penalty if so is that also included or taken away in your data?

sweebie, Senna was as 'ruthless' as MS for sure but he had his reasons to be upset at Suzuka- and to be fair Prost did cut across him far too late.
Michael doesnt admit to any wrongs, at least Ayrton had the balls to come clean..

I was under the impression that F1 was a TEAM SPORT. You are supposed to race your opponents, NOT your team mate !!! Really, sometimes all this nonsence press gets very tiring.

Schumacher is a fool! If he can't handle criticism he should have stayed retired! He is an old man! You don't become a better driver in your old age! get back in your rocking chair and go away!!!

:p

Stats are stats...
These are all great drives
Mechanical failures are counted, since they are part of the game for every pilot and on occasions can be induced by the driver himself.

Here's the number of races taken into account for the pilots listed before :
SCHUMACHER Michael 250
PROST Alain 202
MANSELL Nigel 192
SENNA Ayrton 162
HILL Damon 122
STEWART Jackie 101
CLARK Jim 73
MOSS Stirling 68
FANGIO Juan Manuel 53
HAMILTON Lewis 52
ASCARI Alberto 33

There are no 1 race, 1 victory type of situation in the history of F1.

Drivers shared cars and also competed in F2 races & races that didn't count for the championship in the 50s-60s

So may the best driver & team win!

Stats are odd things. Senna was lauded as the king of the pole position but in reality he was only fourth.
The stats I would like to see is fastest race laps and not just ftd but how many fastest laps per race. This is where schumi senna and the like won many races, turning in 2,3 or more fastest laps before the pit stops to gain advantage.
MichealE there is a saying The older I get the faster I was.

160 comments and counting. Funny how this guy stirs such reaction. Senna, as some of you have said was just as ruthless. In some regards, yes he was. Why does he get a break? Because he's dead and the way in which he died we not only mourn, we respect. He died doing what he loved. Also, as someone pointed out, he at least admitted to what he did as wrong at times and had equal combatants. This air of coy BS is what I really dislike about MS: that and Senna was just better.
