Adam Carroll could be the surprise beneficiary of A1GP boss Tony Teixeira's interest in buying into the cash-strapped Campos Meta team

Great if Carroll can finally get into F1! He has little if any money to bring with him, so if he is signed up ahead of a pay-driver that would be fantastic. Of course, Soucek is a good driver too, and has money to bring, plus he is Spanish so that will all count in his favour. EItheor of them would do a good job, but I hope Carroll gets the drive.

On another note, nobody really knows anything about Stefan GP, so it's just typical of Bernie to favour them over Lola or Prodrive for any vacant slot on the grid.

Why would one despite the financial circumstances entertain the thoughts of having Tony Teixeira involved with your team.
He has blighted the name of Motorsport worldwide through the diabolical management of A1GP and his perserverance to conceal the facts.
Providers to Motorsport worldwide are sufferring from this mans unethical business acumen let alone the human element who stood fast believing the optimism he portrayed
His background speaks for little and Motorport as a whole should dismiss him from their fold.
Campos either require to seek interest from other sources or admit defeat in lieu of accepting this man to the sport. To admit defeat is not shameful. To accept Teixeira is.

What is the difference between Tiexeira and Ecclestone? Aside from the fact that Eccestones series makes money, I'd say its about 50 years difference, no wonder Bernie doesn't want him (or anyone else) to get a toehold in his empire. Don't look now Bernie, but the buzzards are beginning to circle, just waiting to feed on the bloated corpse of your empire once you stop twitching enough to fight them off.

SHOULD this deal and format actually happen, I would prefer to see Neel Jani get his chance in the F1 seat over Carroll anyday. Neel is a fantastic racer and i personally think he would beat Carroll hands down in an even test (Some rumours suggest A1 Team IRE had a little bit of 'extra' technical support last year). He is a great guy and TT should back-date the A1GP Champion winning order and give Neel a chance first. OR at least test them against each other. It would be unfair for Adam to get the drive just because he won the Championship a year later - but then Motorsport is unfair sometimes!!!!!

@ Mike Horler - What are you talking about and where is your proof this actually happened? You've come across as nothing more than a bitter fanboy. Jani is a great driver, but he damaged his career prospects when he chose A1GP over a guaranteed drive in the US. Especially when considering his great year in ChampCars back in 2007. Like you said, motorsport is unfair at times. But you can't complain about fairness when you make bad decisions.

If you need a "rescue" or "financial package" Teixeira is your man with the promise. 4M Euro now 16M later, say. The 16M promise will be re-made a day before a race or a test and everybody will just work free since race is tomorrow, because the 16M is still promised. When it doesn't come, you'll get a "three year financial package rescue restructuring" promise and it's coming the day after the next race. So just work free that one too. Eventually Campos folds and all those owed money won't see any even though the 16M is "real." What's consistent about Teixeira is that 20M is about the number still owed to A1 suppliers. Anybody consider that the man repels legit investors/sponsors?

teixeira wants to "link" a1gp and f1. as he has made a pigs ear of a1gp, he would only bring f1 down with him.

stefan gp is bernies favourite at the moment. maybe his support of it is a way of getting a gp in serbia? they seem to be progressing as if they KNOW that they will be on the grid, otherwise, why spend so much dosh needlessly?

Its' funny. Stefan GP seem to have a lot of money, and a car crash-tested and ready to roll, but no place on the grid. Other teams who DO have a guaranteed place on the grid either have no money (Campos) or no car (USF1). Bernie didn't have as much influence over MAx as we all thought. A shame, as for all his money-grabbing ways, Bernie would have guaranteed a full grid (and hence oodles of TV/sponsor cash etc to line his pockets) by signing up REAL teams (Prodrive, Lola) who actually have a clue. Max was all about the p*ssing contest with FOTA.

Considering Carroll himself said he was getting overlooked due to his lack of budget, I think the chances of him being signed up by a team that NEEDS money just to get on the grid is extremely unlikely.

As for Texeira and his A1/F1 link up - the man's on cloud cuckoo land, probably having a pint with Simon Gillett
