F1 » Button: I'm in the best place I could possibly be

F1 is a team effort, underlines reigning world champion Jenson Button, and if we are going to keep the title in Britain, Lewis Hamilton and I need to work together at McLaren-Mercedes in 2010 - and at the end of the season we'll see who comes out on top

Button towing the party line but he knows the truth. I hear that "Thou shall not pass" is to be written on Buttons steering wheel for when he gets close to Hamilton to remind him of how things are in McHamilton.

You don't put two drivers of this caliber together and not get some friction. Same for FA/Massa and Vettel/Weber. But I think McL has come out and tried to clarify their position towards their drivers this year. Not saying it will stick because one will out do the other at some point but for sure Jenson has made public that he wants equal treatment. I think he will get it until Lewis has a clear advantage. Or visa versa. Let's see how Merc treats their KING. It will be worse there for Nico than Button with Lewis. And poor Massa, I think his goose is cooked.

Keep the title in Britian? Thought this was a world wide sport. Button sounds like a soccer mom, not a racer. Please Mr Button--chill for a few weeks, please. HE KNEW this would result in tons of commentary but did it--for what I ask? To pressure Hammy or the team or the fans or himself? We on this site know what Teams are and how they (if powerful enough) can corrupt F1. Team sport my a**, it should be dog eat dog and may the best racer win. Anything else is a kick to the face of the Paying Fans.

Fine Rob, be used to it then slide down even further towards total apathy. Then go Nascarp or Rolex Series. Heck British Sports Car Series. Real fun watching 4 cilinder, 4 door cars, made elsewhere run for a British Championship. Thought you were a fighter not a wusser. Point is, Button is scared as are you.
