F1 » Hamilton dismisses Button's 'best friends' suggestion

Lewis Hamilton has given short shrift to new McLaren-Mercedes team-mate Jenson Button's argument that the pair should be 'best friends' as well as 'fierce rivals' in order to drive the Woking-based outfit forwards in F1 2010

Oh please...

These two are beginning to sound like teenage girls. "I suggested him..." "We should be best friends..."

How long before the racing starts so we can stop listening to these guys talk and see them doing what they do best?

This crash.net website is already biased and slagging off Hamilton - a precursor to what the British media will undoubtedly do in the months to come.

I think what Hamilton said is perfectly reasonable. Why does he have to be friends with the dreadful Button - his attitude is that they should respect each other and work together for the team, but why should they be friends? Don't know about you, but my colleagues at work are not automatically all friends - some are and many are not. Why should it be any different in an F1 team? It seems to me that Button is the one playing mind games and is trying to dictate to Hamilton and the team. He's a bleeding troublemaker already.
