F1 » BBC confirms F1 2010 commentary line-up

The BBC has confirmed an unchanged commentary line-up for 2010, meaning Martin Brundle, David Coulthard and Jake Humphrey remain on-board - as do the less universally popular Jonathan Legard and Eddie Jordan...

never thought id say this but........bring back James Allen. :-o he was annoying, but at least he put some excitement into the races, and he was genuinely enthusiastic about F1. lost of bad things have been said about Legard, but at the end of the day, he just doesnt cut it. listen up BBC!

Please no more Jonathan Lagard. He was enthusiastic but thats not enough.

It was once said that the great Murray Walker could make a commentary on paint drying the most exciting thing on earth.

Exactly the opposite can be said of Legard his style struck me of someone just going through the motions and what he said wasnt always on time. In first race of year he commented on a brilliant overtaking manouvre that had happened "off screen" shame that it happened on screen a whole lap earlier.

Nobody can replace Murray he was so good but even Mr Blobby would be better than Legard. I vote for Ben Edwards from Eurosport a true under used gem

Can I to add my voice to the Ben Edwards camp, Mr Legard is the weak link and Ben would be a great addition to an otherwise great team and coverage.
Can we please also get rid of those graphics at the beginning of each show and replace them will actual action footage, "The Chain" has lost its impact being played over this "waste of taxpayers money" rubbish.

To be honest rather than deciding who should be in or out, I'd rather we just saw less of all of them! Do we really need the hour build-up and 'features' on things the vast majority of the viewers already know?
Get rid of Humphrey, DC and Eddie, start the coverage about 20 mins before the race with just the two in the commentary box. It worked for years! I'm not a fan of Brundle, but he's good at his job - the problem is we were spoilt with Murray all those years and I'm not sure who else can live up to that!

Just thanks goodness for Crofty and Ant!!! I could never grow tired of their brilliantly hilarious commentary :D
And I did grow to love Eddie so glad that him, Jake and David are staying.
Along with the testing coverage and F1 Forum, the BBC overage is a million times better than the ITV stuff. All we need now is HD :)

The BBC should really put Anthony Davidson and David Croft on BBC. Legard is terrible and can't stop asking questions. David Coulthard could easily handle the rest of the pundit type stuff.

They can keep their HD coverage though. HD TVs are miles outwith some views financial capabilities and to be honest, there arn't any high definition programmes to warrant an HD TV.

Ok, Ben Edwards is not the answer, they have 4 very good commentators just not the right combination. Crofty and Brundle on TV, Legard and Ant on Radio. Personally I always swtich over to radio commentary when I can, much better

yep, red button comentary is the way to go. Leg-End needs to pick up his P45 and head down to job centre plus!

the person saying EJ doesn't know what he's taking about is himself a fool. EJ has owned a F1 team, been involved in the sport for years and knows things about F1 that the general public could never imagine. i like his style, he doesn't pussy foot around and says what he thinks.

Is it too much to nick some DNA off Murray Walker, get our finest scientists to whip up a clone quick smart and mature that lad into a man, all before Bahrain, or if that's asking too much, then by the time the teams head off to Melbourne?
