F1 » Lotus F1 CEO asks for 2010 newcomer to be given 'a bit of credit'

Lotus F1 CEO Riad Asmat is adamant that the newcomer will be present and correct on the Bahrain Grand Prix starting grid in mid-March - brushing off doubts about the team's financial health as Malaysians' natural predilection to 'draw the negative out of everything'

Looks like it's been built in the garage at home. Wait 'til the wife gets home and finds out why her Matiz has been parked outside all winter, she'll go mad.

F1 goes from strength to strength....

If these guys are demanding credit & respect before they can prove their worth, they are going to have a hard time in 2010. Big egos & laziness don't do very well in any international sports.

I feel a little sorry for Lotus. They were expecting backing from Petronas but all the oil money has gone to Merc F1. They might have got a slice if Schumi had stayed retired but MS will have demanded the very best of everything and the best comes with a big bill.

so lotus is associated with england and malaysia, 2 countries that embrace the negative of everything. you know, glass half-empty kind of stuff and lotus are expecting to get credit? a bit ambitiious. personally, they do deserve it, as do virgin who have for the first time built an f1 car. campos and usf1 will get credit if they make the grid but usf1 won't and campos are very doubtful unless they get major investment. you'd have thought, with a senna at the wheel, they'd try and use the name.

The fake Lotus has to have one of the worst F1 paint jobs ever. It's the shade of green that reminds me of raw sewerage. Not only have they stolen the Lotus name, they have a audacity to give the car a terrible colour scheme.

paint scheme imo looks quite nice. does remind me of the lotus of old with the shade of green (not quite british racing green i don't think) and the bit of yellow. gives a different colour to f1.

i agree with andrew. the paint scheme sucks! only very light relief with yellow, and the script on the side looks a bit old fashioned, although this may be intentional. but look at the nose! this must be the shortest nose of any current f1 car. and the gap between the the two inner plates of the front wing, is enormous. bet it will be changed before too long!
