True to his word, Nico Rosberg opened the second F1 group test of 2010 by putting Mercedes top of the times at Jerez.

Well using Sunny's logic, Red Bull are well screwed then. But like DBL says the test wasn't able to give conclusive times because of the weather. Though looking at another website there was quite a gap between what Alonso and Button were doing in the wet when on the track at the same time.

They(McL) would like to be faster but yet during first test they were a tenth better than the Merc. Fine tuning a car takes time as I am sure you are aware 107.Taking over JET's role as McL knocker seems beneath you.

And when the Mclaren was out, it had scaffolding clamped to one side of the car collecting data to compare with wind tunnel and CFD work, the session was stopped at the end because Rosberg broke down on track, and the Red Bull had an oil leak, so it is utterly pointless to try to use today's times to say anything meaningful about the cars.

Yes Alan, the same as Ferrari using the MAST during first test. That's why they call it testing. Some are hoping/praying that the Merc/McL split will cause the demise of McL.

@ RAMJAM, red bull problem was mechanical (reported oil leak) that certainly doesn't mean they are screwed.
DBL is correct NR set his time in the only dry period and running only with a TORO ROSSO and a WILLIAMS on track.
roBO1,ROB, I only hope you don't seriously believe that I will ever get down to JET'S level.
