Shame about not publishing the car weights... I would really like to know which cars are most fuel efficient, I would also say that where environmental/green issues and cost saving are the current trends (Not my personal opinion) this should be information made available to the public as engine manufacturers should be accountable for producing efficient engines!

Ban on in-season testing is ********! Give them a limit to work within, like, 30 days worth of testing, which all the teams can use as they see fit.. F1 is becoming ridiculous!

Why not just adopt motoGP style testing - Stay on for an extra day at 2 or 3 rounds and test as much as you like, with the proviso that the team's reserve driver(s) has to be used alongside one of the regular drivers. The rookies get the experience, the teams get the data and it won't add a huge amount on budgets as there won't be that much extra travelling.

F1 is a sport which ships cars around Europe for the weekend in a jumbo jet. When the race is held at Silverstone, 40,000 cars will clog up most of the roads in Northamptonshire for three days and Bernie will arrive by private helicopter, the most fuel-inefficient form of transport on the planet. When F1 generates this sort of carbon footprint, playing the green card because one engine is a bit more fuel efficient than another is just silly.

Alan before you start name calling I'm not disagreeing with you! I would have thought all information regarding fuel efficiency should be published because of those reasons (to prevent F1 looking too wasteful) because at least some of the technology regarding engine efficiency will be on road cars in the future... it seems an odd policy that's all... and the fans miss out on knowing the facts which would encourage watching until the end of races to see if the cars they know are poor on fuel can finish, like back in the eighties!

DampMongoose - there are lots of factors that determine how fuel efficient the cars are. I suspect that Adrian Newey's Renault powered Red Bull gets different mileage than the team Renault car does. It probably even varies between team mates due to their driving styles. While it may be interesting to know it would be pretty hard to make many conclusions based on the weights alone.

I have no intention of name calling. People are quite entitled to disagree with me. Conversations would be very boring if we all thought the same thing. I just get niggled by the people who disagree with the factual statements because they'd rather it wasn't true.

Yes, fuel loads would be interesting, (but not necessarily for environmental reasons). In the past when refuelling was banned, the problem was getting enough fuel into the car to reach the end of the race. I don't think any cars had the luxury of carrying spare gas. Drivers had to manage their driving to ensure they didn't burn it up too quickly.
