F1 » Webber: 2009 form possibly saved my F1 career

Red Bull Racing star Mark Webber has revealed that had he been forced to contend with less-than competitive machinery again in 2009, he would likely have called time on his F1 career - but as it is, the popular Aussie now heads into 2010 as one of the early world championship favourites

Good to see Mark healthy and contented prior to the season.
As for WDC contention he has a magnitude of talent surrounding him however he will make his season complete and satisfying providing the tools provided are up to standard.
As a proud Aust I wish him all the best.

I'm sorry! I don't see Webber as a championship favorite! I like Webber, but I don't think he has what it takes! Their are too many other good drivers ahead of him!

Vettel is faster, but he's not neccesarily better. I'm no big Webber fan, and I certainly wouldn't consider him a genuine 2010 championship contender, but Vettel is not the messiah, he's just not consistent enough... yet.

Webber needs to match or be within reach of Vettel this year. If Vettel thrashes him badly, the future may not be so bright...especially with a certain very fast Finn lurking in the background.

As someone had labeled the top four teams for this coming year and drivers who have a chance of taking the championship, I had to agree with how they had listed Mark as an 'outside' chance. He is a good driver, but I haven't seen enough brilliance from him to label him as a genuine championship contender.
