Personally, I think it's too early to call it a success. Signing up to be a test & reserve driver in a brand new team isn't what you would called proving the creditability of a series (although, that being said - you figure Virgin took him on talent given that Palmer spells out Soucek's financial issues.)

With current testing regulations, the poor lad is pretty much reduced to by-stander for the year, with the hope of a race seat if either race driver moves on.

When an F2 champ gets on to the grid, then you can call it a success. I do personally hope it does happen. I think the F2 initiative is a great thing, especially in a world where money trumps talent on most occasions.
