F1 » Heidfeld: McLaren wanted me for F1 2010

Nick Heidfeld - out of a race seat in F1 2010 for the first time since making his top flight debut a decade ago - has revealed that he was 'very close' to signing for McLaren this year, and remains hopeful of rejoining the grand prix grid in 2011

I would have much preferred Heidfeld as Lewis' partner at McLaren. He seems a nice solid good driver instead of that arrogant, useless tool they have now. Let's hope McLaren cancel Button's contract at the end of the year and get Heidfeld instead.

@Fred

So Button's drive in Brazil was the mark of a useless driver ?

Button comes across far less arrogant than his team mate has in the past although last year probably brought Lewis back down to earth a bit.

You might not like Button but to call him useless makes your comments lack credibility.

Heidfeld never won a race not even when BMW was fast (waht a loser), he could not secure a seat even with so many new teams joining (what a bad judgement) and he is still moaning about it (what a whiner).

Fred what kind of Buffoonary have you written about the World Champ ?

How on earth you came to the conclusion that Jenson is Useless and Arrogant I do not know.

I would be tempted to suggest that you know very little about motor racing if you think that Jenson is useless and that you know very little about him as a person if you think he is arrogant - did he refuse to sign your cap or something ?

Hannah.

I'm still of the opinion that Heidfeld is way too good a driver to be out of an actual race seat...

ok so he hasn't won a race yet BUT Kubica has only won one (funnily enough Heidfeld was the man in 2nd that day) and he's meant to be the 'next big thing'. And frankly some of Heidfeld's drives have been far far more brilliantly memorable than many of the current drivers, Silverstone and Belgium 08 for example...

Just hope he gets a seat in 2011! :D
