Brilliant - finally a story that actually makes me smile. I love Renault - hope it doesn't prove itself the butt of endless jokes this year because of this.

I would have thought that the most unlikely would have been Greenpeace. :p

But Lada are a serious car company. They have a team in the WTCC and by all accounts their cars use brick sh1t house technology and last a fair bit. Still wouldn't by one yet. The styling is still pretty crap.

A Maxi is an awful British Leyland car for those who were too young to remember or experience.

Lada actually broke its contract to pull out of the WTCC for this year. The FIA must think twice about allowing this deal under those circumstances.

The sponsorship deal which made me laugh was when NiQuitIn signed with Williams - a product designed to help people quit smoking, so soon after Formula One teams were forced to quit tobacco advertising...
