F1 » 'USF1 is dead...and it won't come back'

The end of the road has officially been reached for USF1, it appears - with a senior employee confirming that all staff have been put on indefinite leave, and concluding that the financially-beleaguered American hope 'is dead...and it won't come back'

I remember seeing a piece about USF1 during one of the races last year and some high up guy on the team said something like "We've been developing this programme for several years and now we're ready to race." What a joke!

I just cant believe how stupid Pete & Ken are for not getting the Chaos crew from scrapheap challenge to complete their car Hell they built the 4wd Chaos cab in a few days how hard would it be to knock up a F1 car?

Was going to be a wise guy and mention the toasters but you bet me to it Richard. I have to agree with a lot of posters about the likes of Penske being able to do a better job. I think that the FIA would have been better served going to an established IRL outfit and see if they could get some interestin operating a team in F1. Would have done wonders for closer links between the two codes. From what I can make out, the Andretti setup is comparable to any F1 team as far as facilities and professionalism go. They managed to run the US A1GP outfit alongside the IRL team, so presume they could with F1. Having said that, with F1 the way it is, maybe they know better than run an F1 team!!

johndier. you can mention the waffle makers, if you want to! re penske, he had a go at f1 many moons ago and left. i doubt that he would want to return. but maybe rahal would have a better chance.

Makes you wonder whether Bobby rahal or Michael Andretti would bother with F1 now, IRL seems a lot easier life. I don't think I need to mention the waffle maker Richard, he(Ken Anderson) spoke already.
