F1 » 'Thrilled' Chandhok: F1 chance a surreal and unbelievable feeling!

Prior to joining HRT F1 team, he was with Ocean Racing Technology team in the GP2 Series. Chandhok's first win in GP2 came in the sprint race at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium during the 2007 season for the Durango team. Chandhok also led the sprint race in Turkey after starting from pole, only for the second place Kazuki Nakajima of DAMS to collide with him. The collision resulted in retirement for Chandhok while Nakajima was given a drive-through penalty. He also won a race at the Hockenheimring in 2008. Prior to his time in GP2, Chandhok won the Formula Asia championship in 2001 and was the inaugural Formula Asia V6 by Renault champion in 2006.

I think the sport has grown in such a way that talent HAS to go with money in F1...Someone with JUST talent can't make the cut but at the same time teams DO look for drivers with the right package and ability. Chandhok has also pipped rivals like Maldonado and Lopez who have more money but are respected less among the racing community...I just would like to wish him and Senna the best ! They make a great pairing and would be ideal to develop a new team with their great relationship !!

thank god he shaved that horrendous uni-brow...no testing and two rookies???? senna didn't even RACE last year and chandhok finished 18th in the standings in GP2 ...with ten points...unless i am missing something they must be bringing a pretty significant amount of sponsorship money to these hopefuls...good luck to ya, you'll need it...

Karun Chandhok's results, 18th GP2 2009, 10th GP2 2008,15th GP2 2007, and 7th GP2 Asia 2008. All achieved with top teams as lead driver.. Come on the FIA need to be transparent and consistent here there is no way these results qualify a driver for a super licence, its just another murky side to F1.

Chandhok could have an enormous effect on a GP, blocking taking out etc. If Mark Webber was not happy before what will he make of this team and its drivers
