Jose Maria Lopez's bid to join the F1 fraternity is over following his omission from HRT F1's line-up, according to manager Felipe McGough.

If he really is serious about breaking into F1, then he needs to get himself a ride in GP2 this year, and put in a shedload of good performances. Everyone knows he can bring big bucks to a team, but if he has the results along with that, he may well find himself an F1 drive next year. He needs teams looking at him for his ablility, not his wallet.

Cardinal, do you think he can get a seat in GP2 without paying? I have no doubt he can show good performances there.
Do you think it's easy to get a 8 million dollar funding in argentina?

I still remember how Norberto Fontana was sent out of Formula 1 while he was clearly superior in gp2 than many of other drivers that managed to stay in or get into F1.
