Quite a different order for the top 10 from first practice.I think we can really expect to have a great season ahead, with the unpredictability of several teams actually being in the hunt for race wins.

It will be great to see which team holds it together for the duration of the season.

RE: HRT

Sorry, I am a BIG Bruno Senna fan but there is no way that the FIA should allow either of the HRT cars to race on Sunday it they are that slow! They should be sent away and told to come back when they have it down to at least 5 seconds! Going to get in everyone's way on Sunday. Not good.

they are 1 sec faster than Lotus and virgins.... or not.
they are 6 secs off the Lotus and 5 off the virgins.they should slash at least 3-4 sec tomorrow. 12 sec is too much!

and I think -that- has teach senna to be modest in his comment next time

I don't think Hispania should have been allowed to race until they had done some proper testing. Using a Grand Prix quali session, and worse, the race itself, to test your car is just plain wrong, not to mention potentially dangerous. The FIA should have stepped in and said to HRT 'we want you to skip Bahrain and actually test your car, then turn up for round 2'.
In-season testing ban or not, I don't think any of the other teams would have objected. That far off the pace with two rookie drivers? It should never have been allowed to happen! Let's hope Bruno and Chandhok can get through the weekend in one piece.

railey. hrt is unlikely to be 3-4 secs faster tomorrow. it is quali, and all the top teams will be still faster. but i agree that they should be prohibited from even going on the track tomorrow, particularly chandhok who has NO time or practice. his car also has hydraulic problems, so would be a total danger to all other runners.

I've been saying all winter that these new teams are a waste of time, and not proper F1 outfits at all, and, lo and behold here we are - 6 hopelessly off the pace machines clogging up the back of the grid getting in the way.

And as for all those that say 'give them time'. Stewart weren't that slow on their debut. Jordan weren't that slow on their debut. Sauber weren't that slow on their debut. Toyota weren't that slow....do you want me to go on?

Kick them out or bring in a 105% (note not 107%) qualifying rule and lets see proper F1 cars racing, not these joke GP2 machines.

@fellainishair: Sorry, mate, but if you judge every team on their first appearance and throw them out if they can't make an instant impact like Jordan or Sauber, the grid would be almost empty today. The first Politoys-Williams back in 1972 was so awful at first that nobody wanted to drive it. The first BAR (aka Honda aka Brawn aka Merc) was a hopeless reeker. Remember the first Stewart (aka Jaguar aka Red Bull)? Just give them a little bit of time, everyone at least deserves that. If they don't improve by Years end, I'll agree with you.

Regards!
