F1 » Alonso not getting carried away by Ferrari 1-2

Fernando Alonso has admitted that little can be read into Ferrari's 1-2 finish in Bahrain, with other potential frontrunners looking strong during the weekend.

Just like the average punter won't be getting carried away watching this boring processional rubbish.
F1 has become a joke, where is the actual racing?
Big promises each year, same sh*t in return.

And I thought I was not going to care about Ferrari anymore after they took on Alonso.

But this guy is making me reconsider. He looks good in that red car - and the car looks good with him driving.

:? :? :?

I've been an F1 fan for 36 years and that has to be one, if not, the most boring race I've ever watched.

Jacques Villeneuve hit the nail on the head in the 'Red Button' coverage post race - messing about with compulsory pit stops, tyre compounds, having a drink and a sandwich while the tyres are changed etc., will not provide good RACING.

The FIA need to look at aero to reduce the reliance on downforce and to increase the importance of mechanical grip - you just have a look at some of the archive footage on ESPN Classic to see how cars would 4 wheel drift around corners, often side by side. Hamilton would relish that.

Steady Mojo, you are sounding like Leggard. He whittled on about someone's new helmet in the race. It's come to this, we're down to what they are wearing to make it more interesting. FA rightly knows he was fortunate yesterday.

I also listened to Jacques Villeneuve yesterday and he was the only expert that made any sense. Its the aero's that are causing the problem, as could be seen by Alonso when he came up behind Vettel, and then had to back off as his car started to overheat due to the dirty air. Eddie Jordan talked so much crap about compulsory pit stops its embarrassing that a so called expert can be so far off the mark. My advice would be go and find some Classic racing if you want to see wheel to wheel dicing and plenty of overtaking, and why is that.. simple.. No AERO devices

FA is calling it correct. Also, some of the posts on this thread are spot on. The way FA slowed when he was behind SV was dramatic. FA could never have passed SV without the mechanical problem unless he was prepared for a do or die move. F1 looks more like risk assesment over racing
