F1 » Karun Chandhok: I have to make an impression in F1

F1 2010 rookie Karun Chandhok is well aware that he is up against it with behind-schedule newcomer Hispania Racing this year, but the Indian is adamant that steady progress will be made as he endeavours to prove his worth at the highest level

thats something new for KC to do cause he hasnt made an impression so far in his career (including GP2 etc)
he must be bonkers if he actually believes in his heart that force India should have hired him just coz he is Indian .(a guy who finished 18th or something in last years GP2 and he has never done anything to showcase his talent)
Force India is now a big time player in F1,they dont need KCs money..I doubt with his limited talent ,he can make inroads into F1 but his dads got ****loads of rupees so thats a massive advantage..:)

PS:i met him in brackley three months back, seems like a nice lad.none of that "i am rich" ****..he is a smart chap.this picture doesnt do him justice..lol

He needs time to prove himself, but it really does not look too promising. I know several Taxi drivers who are quicker....

Hispania on the other hand deserve truly great respect for making it happen in such a short space of time. Hard to put into words what they achieved, compared to what USF1 did not achieve. Sadly the Spanish are ashamed of them and have written them off already.

In case anybody has missed this, Hispania did not do it all themselves, Bernie E "made it happen" ... i.e. stuck his own filthy lucre into the show, to get it off the ground after others let them down.

Pessimists with any knowledge of F1 team history will recall, Shylock always wants his pound of flesh.

Not a chance for him to outperform Bruno, methinks.
Talent will prevail, that's why Bruno has climbed so high up the ladder even with few years less in racing than his young fellows (unfortunately the break did happen for obvious reason).
Anyway, all the best for HRT and both drivers, they've earned my sympathy! :)

i agree with Craig ..
too bad money cant buy speed..
something i fear KC will never have..He was below average in GP2 But lets give the lad a chance in F1 and see what he can do before burying him..
good luck KC

At least Karun Chandhok has a race drive not like the numptees (reserve or test drivers haha) in the other new teams strutting around telling the world they are F1 drivers when what are they really..paid up window dressing none of them will get to race.......... NUMPTEES

@Big E-well,thats not entirely correct..he has a drive because he has got millions of rupees in his bank account..
i am sure that Colin Kolles and the rest of HRT would prefer guys like heidfeld, davidson to this below average driver anyday!!!
Its all about the money..Man, f1 just sucks nowadays..
i miss the good old days,,,

@richard-actually his dad-Vicky Chandhok was in the running for the post of president of the FIA last year but lost out to Jean Todt..
Karuns dad is good friends with bernie so its not harsh to say that he is bernies boy..
Bernie surely helped him out to get a f1 drive cause the Indian GP is on next year..
But it really helps when you are a millionaire like KC and his dad...
this guy is not good enough for a force India drive, not even close..

Make an impression in F1? Hey Karun, you gotta be kidding, aren't you?
Impressive indeed, is the fact that he's made into F1. Even more impressive would be to get to see him still in F1 by the brazilian race.
Which I don't forsee it happening
