F1 » Kubica plays down expectations after Renault's Monaco flourish

Monaco Grand Prix stand-out performer Robert Kubica has moved to dispel notions that Renault will be able to do battle for victory later on in F1 2010 - but the Pole does hope to spring a few more surprises along the way...

australia and monaco tend to give drivers of slower cars a chance, kubica has taken his chance at both circuits to show that bmw dropped the ball in 08 by not really giving him a chance of taking a very winnable championship.

I dont expect Kubica to take pole positions but qualifications in second or third row would keep him out of trouble. Watching him race in a damadged car makes dull viewing.

@tel
What do you expect him to do when people put a microphone in front of his face? put his hands up to his face like Ricky Bobby? Do you think he runs around after the trophy presentation trying to get reporters to listen to him?
This guy is one of the few drivers who has the courage to speak the truth and is also one of the most mild mannered and humble drivers. Would you rather have him swear at reporters like lulu does to his engineers? :?

No worries. :) I used to think the same thing, but after attending a few F1 events (as well as MOTO GP), I saw how much these guys get hounded, and then reporters and websites take things out of context and post it so we can get all worked up about it. Robert is no angel, he's quite blunt very often, and not everyone likes that (including the BMW engineers apparently).
@Stuart, yeah I did go to church school (private school). If I spoke that way at work, I would be written up. Lulu is not making any friends with his team. And he's not wining over any fans with behaviour like that either. :rolleyes:
