Jacques Villeneuve: There comes a point where you've been out for too long and the teams just won't give you a chance [to return].

No one in Nascar wants him and no F1 team wants him and hes not greatest driver ever but he still is an ex world champion. He must real be a ****.

He has never been given the respect he deserved (due to his accomplishments), fans comment on him as a has been while faithfully watching a driver like Barrichello among others take up space on the grid. Villeneuve was critisized for being uncompetetive against a pre WDC Alonso - after a layoff, Button @ BAR Honda, Massa / Heidfeld @ Sauber, All these team mates susequently have gone on to do extremely well.

While it would be interesting to see him out there the fact is he has been out of it too long to get re established, so given his age it makes no sense for any competitive team to invest in him. He must have pissed Williams off with the move to BAR asv that door seems firmly closed

Maybe Jacques should just give up period. He had his chance and a lot was expected of him but what happened? Ego? Did not get along with Patrick Head? Joined a new team which did not really go anywhere or all of the above? It is a shame. Jacques did have potential but it went nowhere quickly as it came.

Since he won the 1997 F1 title, he failed to win a race since and other form of racing, all very poor results, it's about time he wake up and smell the coffee that he is passed it, he will never be as good as his father Gilles which he is a legend and forever remebered while Jacque is forgotten really.

Go play some music (another failed project) and help your wife to raise your kids

To be honest, he wasnt brilliant in F1, just lucky to be in the right car at right time.

arcuid, jacques went to BAR as the team was set up by his manager pollock, around jacques. he subsequently had a falling out with pollock. but he has left it far too late for a return. no sane team would give him a second thought. hrt might (i did say no sane team!)

He was a great Indycar driver. The only driver to win the Indianapolis 505 (not a typo). Don't forget he finished second at LeMans too. Plus his first season in F1 was arguably better than Hamilton's.

That first year in F1 it seemed that he was trying to be buddies with Schu in an attempt to unsettle Damon which sure didn't make him look like much of a team player.
