F1 » Williams: Without Barrichello, we would be nowhere

Sir Frank Williams hints at an unchanged driver line-up at his eponymously-named outfit in F1 2011 - admitting that 'without [Rubens] Barrichello, we would be nowhere'

Well, thats not entirely true Taz, Virgin and Lotus are knocking on their door, so Rubens contribution is invaluable.

Just goes to show what happens to a team when the money dries up, even down to being forced to use a cosworth engine. Going to need some serious backing to get this once great team back up, and they can forget about podiums unless the top half of the field crash out.

I'm afraid they're going to stay nowhere until they start to co-operate again with the bigger manufacturer, like for example theoretical VW/Porsche partnership. Otherwise there's no money, no good engine, team just staying alive, but not living

Too bad for such legendary team with a great spirit and will to fight at the front again. All the best for the future, Frank&Patrick!

I also odn't quite believe if Sam Michael is the best technical director for the job.

@ A.S - Agreed. For me, Willims problem is they are a pure F1 team and don't build or make anything else. So they need money - lots of it. I think your right, they should follow the Mcl model and partner with a big manufacturer and plan for the long term

what an endorsement for the hulk!! but the barrow is not a good development driver,so they really need someone better. but there again, they are using the cossie, and are the best of the cossie runners by a mile! still i feel sorry for frank, he does deserve more!
