F1 » Webber: Heikki must be asking 'Was it worth it?'

Countering Heikki Kovalainen's argument that he simply ran into the back of the Lotus Racing machine, Red Bull Racing star Mark Webber has questioned whether the Finn should really have fought so hard for position in Valencia when he was 'five seconds off the pace'

heikki had every right to "fight" for his place. he was AHEAD of webber on the road. i didnt consider that webber was much of a whinger, but he seems to be trying to take the heat off himself. he made a rookie error, and his question should be directed at himself. was it worth it to slipstream and try to get through before the corner, as all he had to do was to pass hiekki on the exit?

with every right comes matching duties and obligations. While Heikki technically had every right to fight for his place, he also has a the duty/obligation to drive safely and smartly, which he didn't. That being said, he wasn't totally at fault, Mark definitely misjudged what Heikki was doing and was partially at fault.

I think Webber needs to go and think about his driving and his attitude to this sport as if people are fighting for position then why would they let you GO PASSED without HAVING A GO.Plus if the car infront wants to brake earlier then so be it as they are INFRONT of you so you have to find a way a ROUND them and not just OVER them.
To much bitching going on at the moment,my advice is to get in the car, shut your mouths and drive the car like you are paid to do.

I see a comment appearing on Heikki's website any minute now... "Mark must be asking himself, was it worth it? why did he feel the need to slipstream me knowing his car was 5 seconds a lap faster and could easily have simply driven round me"

andrew p. on what evidence do you come up with the conclusion that heikki did NOT drive safely and smartly? the "weaving" that webber claims occurred was barely noticable and was gradual. thats what i call safely and smartly. people used to give off about schumi bullying drivers off the track. that is exactly what webber did. it might even make some reassess turkey??

" u should realise when u got the quickest car on the track behind u "

YOU yourself should realise u got the slowest car on the race track infront of u n not try n drag in to it.

silly boy
