F1 » Kubica rues potential lost podium in Valencia

Whilst professing himself pleased with fifth place in the European Grand Prix in Valencia, Renault star Robert Kubica reflects that he could have been mounting the podium for the third time in F1 2010 but for a brief pit-stop confusion...

Kubica-Button-Webber fight on the first lap was nearly ignored by the BBC commentators. It was a clean overtake by Kubica of RB and McL!!!
So Renault has some kick :)
Shame the pit stop didnt worked out, but they all know now Renault has some speed :) :) :)

@ cobalt
as the unofficial moderator of the Kubica comments section, please stop with the Kimi pipe dream. :rolleyes: Although if you want to work for Crash.net, maybe you should continue. You can be the "inside source" crash always quotes for its articles. On the other hand, one thing is for certain, barring a miracle from Petrov in the last half of the year, he is not coming back for 2011. It is my understanding that his contract states he must equal at least 25% of the points earned by Kubica to keep his seat. He is at 7.22% right now. I see another finn taking his spot, Heikki :-o

@Olek, I find that interesting that he needs to equal 25% of the points earned by Kubica. What if the Russian mob shows up at the Renault factory and tells them to give him another year and they will chip in a few more bucks. Do you think he will get another shot at it, one more yr. Haaaaaaaa!!!!! I would not put it past them! :p :)Ed

Because I have a little spare time right now i will elaborate on my thoughts about Raikkonen.
When rumours are not true they are immediately squashed by both sides. But this time the rumour keeps returning, Renault confirmed it and Raikkonen said he didnt decide yet. So it may be possible. Renault is not a top team but good enough now for a comeback. Raikkinen can still go rallying in winter and between races as Kubica does.
Otherwise with 2 years off it will be impossible for Raikkonen to return to a top team straight away, with so many competetive drivers around.

@eddie
I would not hold it past them. I could even see Russian mafia buying out Genii Capital (now we are your roof!).
@cobalt
I am sure they are talking with Raikonnen, but IMHO, talks will break down when it comes to money, and Kimi will not sign with Renault. I see KIMI at Merc before Renault. That would really rub salt in MS's wounds! :-o

Petrov for Heikki swap, Lotus gets russian money, Heikki gets a better ride (and he is a good #2). Also could see Timo from Virgin (don't want to see it, but it could happen). Timo has to be kicking himself for turning down renault in favor for Virgin. :?
