F1 » Williams steps down, team sticks with Cosworth


Sir Frank Williams has officially relinquished the day-to-day running of the ultra-successful team that bears his name to Adam Parr - as the Grove-based outfit confirms the extension of its Cosworth engine-supply into F1 2011

well earned retirement, sir frank. you gave your all to f1 and will be remembered for a long long time. you persevered through thick and thin to become an overnight success. its a pity a major sponsor never came your way to make you fully competitive again.
despite my fears, the cossie is appearing to be half decent, so lets hope that they can give the team a boost.

Frank is one of F1's true greats :) Not for the length of time he has been in F1 as an independent but the difficult times he has had to endure such as the accident that left him wheelchair bound and the loss of his drivers particularly Ayrton Senna at Imola. In these commercially difficult times I am delighted to see he is still there - just how long more though is anyones guess. That is it :) Williams F1 :) :blush:

Anyone else read 'Williams' by Maurice Hamilton? Great book on Frank and the team, I never realised he was such a playboy in the team's early days.

I would love to see Williams back up the sharp end and I hope Frank is around for many years to come.
