F1 » Kubica: All Alonso needed to do was let me back past...

Fernando Alonso might be licking his wounds from a second crushingly disappointing race in swift succession in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, but Renault rival and good friend Robert Kubica suggests the double F1 World Champion only has himself to blame...

Bull-**** Kubica!!!!!! Robert new his car was dying under him but so very maliciously he wanted his pound of flesh by complaining on the radio. You could hear his engineer say "OK Robert we'll talk to Charlie (Whiting)".
Fair play, sportsman like attitude "my ass!!!!!"

Kubica did everything by the book. Fair played. Alonso gained a place by cutting a corner, everyone including Alonso agreed that he should have given back a place to Kubica.

Kubica was defending his position fairly, nothing malicious about that.

They are both ambitious racing drivers and I am sure they would not expect: after you... no after you... from each other. They were not at a tea party :rolleyes:

I am sure Ferrari can see it would be better to have Kubica on their side than against :p

@Nigel
A little sugar in your coffee this morning perhaps? That pent up frustration sure isn't doing your blood pressure any good.
Alonso f'ed up his race, he went off and tried to do the ol' "no he went off the track" trick. Had he just let Robert back in front and waited for another opportunity which he could have easily created, and in fact in hindsight would not even have to because RK's car would have been done. Alonso is very impatient this year, he either thinks so highly of RK that he did not think he could pass him again or he doubts his own skills and/or car. I lost a lot of respect for Alonso this race as a fan. Just my humble opinion.

I remember Ferrari from Schumacher v Hakkinen times. Ferrari vas so quick on making right decisions. They were always first to respond to SCs or rain.

It should have taken them a second to tell FA to give back Kubica place. The ones sitting on the chairs were asleep during the race :rolleyes:

Why does it take the stewards sooo long to make decisions? 10 or 20 laps later? Can they not just look at one another around the table and decide "this is what should happen"! Then the head steward or Charlie W. presses the Ferrari button and says "ask your driver to give the place back within the next lap! End of story...it's not rocket science.

People aren't being fair to FA on this board. There's a lot of adrenaline pumping when an F1 driver is in that "zone" of relentless driving on the limit. Kubica was much slower than FA and it's naive to expect FA to consider slowing down so Kubica could catch up! In which case the team or stewards should have put their foot down and said DO IT NOW!
