Was the decision to hand Michael Schumacher a grid penalty the correct one?

I believe the penalty for Schumachers driving display was fair but if Rubens had lost control and crashed or there had been a car exiting the pit lane at the time Micheals super licence should then have been revoked.
All-in-all this proves to me that Micheal was wrong to come back into F1 he is becoming like an old punch-drunk boxer who never knows when it is time to hang up his gloves for good.

Fair fair when as formula 1 ever been about being fair, was alonso and ferrai fair to massa at hockenhiem.

Fair,you make me laugh crash.

Besides if barrachello didn't like it he could have backed off or doesn't his car have working brakes.

No the penalty wasn't fair.

I disagree with IanK, this not the act of a punch-drunk boxer but Schumi doing what he has always done i.e. try to force people off the track or crash. He should have been stripped of the the Championship when he blatantly crashed into Hill all those years ago. If that had happened then maybe some of the arrogance, which makes him beleive that moves like this are acceptable, would have been knocked out of him.

Schumacher can can clearly be seen looking in his mirrors & yet still he would rather have an accident than yeild. He should be banned, he has learnt nothing from previous penalties quite obviously. He continues to act in the same way he always has, there is no room for this in F1, never has been.

This is why he can never be the greatest.

To try & defend him is insanity.

In terms of fairness, it is a fine line. Should Vettel have been handed a similar penalty when he forced Alonso towards the wall in Germany? Or when he drove into his team-mate in Turkey. It seems that the stewards only apply their interpretation of the rules when the "victim" complains. A bit of consistency would be more appropriate.
But I think this incident is more significant in terms of the message it sends to the other drivers - Schumacher is a master tactician - "overtake me at your peril...I won't hand it to you".

Schumacher is a cock. And an old **** at that. Give up Schumacher you are useless and always were! The only reason you won lots of championships was because your team mates were not allowed to beat you ! Massa should get out of Ferrari too. Baby Alonso wants to be number 1 just like Schumacher and does not like loosing.

"senna would put his car in a position then let you decide wether to crash in to him or not!"

Martin Brundle's words about ayrton senna, schumachers from the same mould.A real racer.

I don't hear anyone saying that senna was a maniac or senna should have been banned.

The difference is then it was real motor racing now its a sham.
formula 1 as turned into fraudula 1.
