F1 » Button: We're still very much in the hunt!

As he continues to do battle in defence of his hard-fought 2009 crown, Jenson Button insists he and McLaren-Mercedes are far from out-of-contention for the F1 2010 title laurels despite a crushingly disappointing Hungarian Grand Prix last weekend

I am a button fan (not a fanboy) but have to say he's pretty poor of late, his racing abilities are as good as ever but his qualifying is poor unless he gets the tyres up to temp.

Overall he's done better than I expected actually.

Catching the Red Bulls might be a tough call at this point so he has to first worry about beating his team mate.

He needs the spark he had at the start of the season and make the momentum - that is now with Lewis - swing back in his favor.

As much as I hate to say it Button is not quick enough to win this title, its going to be Hamilton that wins the title after Spa and Monza which will yield Hamilton a win or 2

Not so much lost it,just never had it.The only way Jenson could defend his title is in a Red Bull, and even the he would most likely loose it to his team mate due to his so called"smooth" style and generally fannying about scratching his head rather than just giving it some welly. But respect to Jense for putting Lewis' stellar qualifying/racecraft into perspective this season.

Good grief, some people posting here really need to get a grip & take a swiftlittle cold reality check.

Nobody is saying JB has had a run of decent results recently & yet look at the table.
Forget all the spin look at the tables.

JB, LH & McLaren are, like it or not, right up there with a few points in it with a stack still up for grabs.
How anyone can seriously say they are out of it or nearly out of it is just laughable (and yes, I'd say LH is guilty of that too).

Now McLaren know a bendy wing is OK we'll see the cars close up again in raw performance.
There's a long way to go yet and those counting their chickens could very easily look very foolish come the end of the season
