F1 » Button: My aim must be for a victory now

Jenson Button: I want to say a big thank you to the whole team for bringing a great package to this weekend's race. Our car is moving forwards all the time. It will be an incredible battle at the front tomorrow, but, starting from the front row, my aim must be for a victory.

good lap from button, although ranked 22nd through the speed trap, 15 kph slower than hamilton, 12 kph slower than the ferrari's and slower than the red bulls, could be inviting others to run into the back of his car tommorow, saves mclaren having to pay for team orders i suppose

yes he is slower on the straights but much quicker through the corners(7-10kph faster apex)so when he exits out the parabolica his lead over the car behind will be such a distance the extra kph will not be a problem. gonna be a good race on sunday be good if button/alonso pick up first and second and lewis/mark/crash bandicoot dont pick up any points. close it up at the top again.

bowski. if button is so slow on the straight, he will either back up everybody, or else will be passed with ease. if the latter, when he comes to the corner, he will have two or three cars in front of him and cornering at a slower speed, and will be unable to pass them through the corner. then comes the straight again, and maybe more cars passing him. it is a very dangerous decision, and he can only hope that he gets a head start at the off, and can control the race from the front. otherwise he will be hung out to dry.

We will see on Sunday if it is the right decision. However, Lewis is saying that he made the wrong choice and he would rather have the F-duct as his car slides around too much in the corners. The first few laps will be crucial to Buttons challenge-heavy car with lower straight line speed.

richard. think thats the plan into the first corner first and then dictate the pace. with the higher down force he can brake 10-15m later and if he is in a tow behind another car on the straight then his higher downforce will not come into it.
