It is becoming clearer now.

Obviously, leaking the fact that Kimi contacted them was Renault's way of playing "find me a sponsor or else..." with Petrov.

It's all spin, these F1 behind the scenes stuff.

Kimi will surely only chase the big bucks..how could Renault compete on this front ?? Then again, F1 is a great proposition for him still with no testing and far less 'working' weekends than the WRC...plainly his manager is on the war path for a bit of liesurely F1 fun and games as Kimi's going to be struggling now he's plainly not going to manage on his Ferrari pay off money alone..his junior Citroen WRC drive pay wouldn't keep him in a weeks booze, partying and yatching :(

Silly season... report on totalf1 has massa going to Sauber and Robert going to Ferrari. This is a possibility as Sauber use Ferrari engines and Massa has been with them before. And I am sure Massa wants off a Fernando run team.

Some rumours are only there to rock the boat. Kubica has good relationship with Renault, they are pulling together in the right direction and getting great results. Rivals may want to destabilise the team.

I agree Cobalt. But I don't see Massa wanting to stay at Ferrari with FA there. Even though Ferrari deny it Massa WAS given team orders. And will continue to be number two as long as FA is with Ferrari. And Robert wants to go to Ferrari at some point. Silly season is upon us in full force.

Massa is paid very well in Ferrari and if Alonso messes up (as he often does) he can pick up a few wins. Being number 2 in Ferrari is still better than driving for Sauber. Massa will hold on for dear life to his seat with Ferrari.

Kubica is still young, he could move to Ferrari in 2013.
