F1 » Ecclestone: More than 20 grands prix would be 'mayhem'

As he again contradicts a previous statement, F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has asserted that 20 grands prix in 2011 is 'plenty' for the calendar - and that any more might result in logistical 'mayhem'

like i just said!...more than 16 races in 8 months is psychologically damaging to the drivers as much as the viewers!!!! This is getting down to the "All or nothing" psychological mentality of the drivers where judgements will become completely misunderstood by the spectator, yet understood by the drivers during the heat of battle, and a totally different set of rules apply amongst those involved!!!

more races means more money for bernie. however, i dont understand why he would put an arbitary number as the maximum. there is probably little reason why there could not be a race every two weeks. with the winter races being in the southern hemisphere. but maybe a discard system could apply, allowing a team to miss a race or two, yet still be able to chance at the championship.

when will he realise that he cares about the money - spectators care about the racing. on track. not in the stewards room. he will lose the lot. serve him right if he did.

This Little Person witht he BIG HEAD, must live on cloud cuckoo. He wanted 22 races a year, now he say's 20 are to many!!. Make your mind up!! With all these new race tracks being made, and contarcts being signed with other countries, I ask Bernie, what tracks are going to loose out in the coming years!!. His thinking is for money only, and not the racing, or the fans.
