F1 » Proton vow to deny Fernandes 'Team Lotus' name

Some of these teams couldnt run a bath between them. How can they anounce the name change without checking with the owners of the name if they can use it. Colin Chapman will be spinning!

Statement for Lotus Racing

We have therefore today issued proceedings in the English High Court for a declaration that Team Lotus Ventures has the rights to use the Team Lotus name and everything associated with that brand in relation to Formula One

This means that Mr Tony Fernandes win the war early on.

It really is a shameful mess this.

Other countries seem to do a better job of protecting their heritage than Britain, Britain has lost it's identity anyway so it doesn't matter anymore I guess.

I thought the whole Lotus F1 thing had the families blessing ?

What's the truth here ? I thought Fernandes and Proton were closely linked ? it would seem not

And Proton cars are dreadful, lets face it...even if Lotus help in tinkering with the suspension.
