A fanstastically gifted driver but hugely arrogant, he's not the 1st WDC to be like that (Schumacher especially springs to mind in his early career) but he's right up there in the pre-madonna stakes so I don't buy that press release. It's like a Matt Wilson press release saying this is his rally and he'll be on the podium, you know it's just b0llocks

Hamilton was pretty arrogant early in his career but he seems to have matured and to call him arrogant next to Alonso is pretty amusing.

Alonso like Senna and Shuey had to demand from teams to win WDC's.

LH as a rookie made one of the pri madonas sulk and leave the team mate he could not control.

I have followed fernando from the start of his career and never find him arrogant.whenever he gives an interview he always uses we (including all the team )ie we had a good race he never says i like some of the other drivers do, who i would call arrogant. When he lived in Oxford while driving for renault everybody said how nice he was always took the time to speak to people,It was the year at Mclaren when he got all the bad publicity that changed some peoples opinion of him, I think he was treated very badly there and cannot put the record straight because of the gagging order he has on him for being allowed to leave his contract early.I hope one day the truth will all come out.

And this is EXACTLY why Alonso's saying this. Everyone thinks they know who he is and what he's like from what they've seen or heard on TV. No one but his friends and family know what he's really like.

I suppose little things like a team mate having to put there car into walls for him and Team mates having to move over for him,attempted blackmail of his boss makes him a perfect little angel does it.

I only get to see him once a fortnight and read about him in newspapers and magazines and what i see makes me not like him.

I think they should name Alonso Schultz from hogans heroes because he always went around saying "i know nothing-NOTHING" when there was any trouble.
