Red Bull energy drinks magnate Dietrich Mateschitz continues to insist that Scuderia Toro Rosso is not presently for sale - but paddock whispers suggest otherwise, and at half the price of previously, too...

commodore. ian answered your comment. similarly red bull were not allowed to supply their chassis to their sister team str, so str had to become designers and constructors in their own right.

however, re the story, we are really lucky the mateschitz saw f1 as a good marketing tool, leading him to buy (and rescue) two teams. the success of his a team is probably the reason for wanting to cut down overall costs. had rb not run two teams, the racing might just have been all the poorer for it.

I can appreciate all of what your say Richard.

I am really keen to determine the agenda of J.V.

Their is more than meets the eye.He has failed to gain sponsorship in many categories and has been declined for entry by the FIA due to lack of ongoing funding or evidence thereof.

He will be out here in 3 weeks compliments of David Richards (Prodrive)

commodore. what is jv over ther for? is it bathurst time? but jv is very much an enigma. if he is interested i str, he will still need a bit of cash to run the team, but he doesnt seem to have the cash. he strikes me a a person who wants to rtace/compete/or manage, but doesnt have the business acumen to do it. in other words "a little boy lost". might be wrong.

Richard Bathurst is next week end commencing on Thursday.

J.V. is coming together with others to compete
at the Gold Coast 600 in the V8s for Ford Performance Racing which Prodrive hold the Racing Entitlement Contract.

J.V may be lost but somebody is using him as their agenda. He has already been linked to Gaddafi money.
I am not in any way casting dispursions towards Prodrive however can not work out the whys and wherefores of J.V.. He himself has not the business acumen to put a deal together of this magnitude.

They are endeavouring to put something together for next year. This year the calender did not allow. The V8s have been invited to be a support act at Singapore next year and this may be the opportunity or Melbourne.Vodaphone are pushing for it to happen.

Jamie Whincup (888-Vodaphone) is proceeding your way at our seasons end to test at invitation with both
McLaren and Red Bull

Perhaps the fans should buy the team. Set up a website seeking donations, $30 million would be an achievable amount to raise. The contributors become shareholders in the team.
Could it really be that hard?
I don't know. Sounds like a good idea though...

Going slightly off topic,I'm amazed Red bull's profits have taken such a slight dip in these hard times.Tesco offer their own brand prouct which tastes exactly the same for 25p as opposed to Red Bull's £1.25ish product.
While a rival manufacture with heavy sponsership in motorsports and extreme sports offers a 250ml can for the price of a 125ml can of Red Bull.
I have no connections with any of the said companies, but merely wish to state the facts as i fear Red Bulls bubble could burst very soon...
