F1 » Button: The last four circuits will suit us much better

Although he might now be the outsider amongst the F1 2010 crown-chasing quintet at 25 points adrift of the lead, defending world champion Jenson Button is bullish about his prospects for the final four grands prix...

jb has had more top eight finishes than any of the top five but still finds himself fifth in the standings (last years scoring only an eight point deficit), needs to beat his competitors to have any chance, something he has regularly failed to do this year

Didn't they say the same thing about Spa and Monza? Admittedly they didn't do bad there but didn't have an advantage either.

My guess is it's over for McLaren, the Ferrari runs well on any track now and Red Bull is still as solid as ever.

Acc. To me in suzuka they can best hope to be the 2nd fastest car going by silverstone and turkey.their car suits the fast corners a bit better than ferrari.but then again ferrari have improved much since those days. Korea doesnt look good to happen.they can forget about brazil.its bumpy got some slow corners and two long straight.ferrari's circuit. Abu dhabi again ferrari like singapore. But red bull will be strong everywhere.so its red bull all the way barring errors or reliability.

Of course Jenson is right that it could still be anybodies game, even if the S.Korean GP will be cancelled.
However I have the impression that the fight will be in between MW, FA and SV.
Of these 3 drivers MW is the slowest, but perhaps the most consistent.
However this probably will be his best ever and only remaining chance for him to win the WCD title, so how will he cope with this as we are getting to the climax of the season? His recent comments (if they are really his quotes?) don't show too much confidence in himself.
SV has made a few costly mistakes but is handling the pressure much better in the last 2 GP's.
FA has a very much improved Ferrari and knows what it takes to become WC, so????

McLaren is behind RBR and Ferrari so I am curious to see if Jenson's claim is right and that the MP4-25 will be better suited to the last tracks?

What do you people think?

Jens maybe slower, but Vet and Ham keep crashing. Jens is always there at the end. No mistakes this year. 30 points from last 2 starts to Ham's zero.
Monaco was teams fault which cost at least 12 points for poss 4th, and Spa was Vet, AGAIN crashing in to him which is another poss 12 points for 4th. That's 24 points lost which would have put him second in the standings on 201 points. Plus McLaren told him to stay behind Ham in Turkey re fuel saving. Jens almost got past Ham once and would have before race end, if he'd been allowed to. That is another 7 points lost. All of that not his fault. True qualifying lets him down, but he is solid and reliable. He still has evey chance to keep the crown and like Webber, he deserves to win it.

Why does everyone rubbish Jens? He had a v tough time at Renault under Flav. Richards saved him and apart from some excellent results in 04, had poor cars at Honda. But he never gave up, and last year, finally, he got the car he needed and he got the job done. World Champion. He realised his dreams.
In life you suffer the slings and arrows and if you keep going, one day, maybe Lady Luck will smile on you.
Jens, for me, is an inspiration. Never give up, keep the faith, keep fighting and you will get there.
Now he is driving for a legendary team and not disgracing himself. He fully deserves the success he has got. He's paid for it in blood, sweat and tears.
If he can do it, it means there might be hope for us all to realise our own dreams.
You Button haters are a truly sad and mean spirited bunch and you've got not the slightest idea of what it takes to achieve what he has done.
