@Blzbub - In the sense that Nico has out performed MS you are correct but on the other hand I think that they expected to be more competitive than they have been. I guess Merc didn't realize how much of an advantage the double difuser gave Brawn last year.

12 out 15 times Nico has out qualified MS. That is totally unacceptable. No matter what kind of car the team has. And Merc realized that the DD was a gift from max and didn't expect it to carry the car as it did last year. The only problem is Ross didn't think out the blown diffuser nor fduct. It's as if the team stood completely still. They should have never left McL.

@Rob01 - Button isn't doing much better being out qualified 10 times in 15 races but I don't hear anyone saying that he is doing terribly. And Button is the WDC, not coming back from a three year holiday.

True Mark. But Button is no Schumacher. A seven time champ should not get out paced every weekend. And although I think Button is a good driver, his Brawn effort was a one off in my opinion.

The driver shouldn't always take the blame. I believe that there is also a problem on the pit box with the mercedes team. Remember the mid season lull in JB's performance last year. It was made clear that Andrew Shovlin and JB had a hard time to make the upgrade packages to work but Jock Clear and RB got better results. Shovlin is now the race engineer for MS and Clear is the race engineer for NR. I think Shovlin still needs to improve his knowledge and understand MS driving style to setup the car to MS preference.
