Early Suzuka pace-setter Sebastian Vettel has played down suggestions that if the heavens open as expected on Saturday, it could provide Red Bull Racing's rivals with the perfect opportunity to pounce

the best car in the dry will still be a very good car in the wet, changeable conditions will give the others a chance, but red bull just need to make sure that they are on the correct tyres for the conditions and they should be ok

A little off subject this but....

Aint it true that the redbull is the fastest car and has been pretty much all year?.....

Aint it also true that the brawn gp was also the fastest car until around midway last year?...

Soooo Button in this years redbull would have already won the wdc!! imho

@Starish
Why can't button outperform Lewis then

I think you will find at the end of the year Button will have out performed hamilton!

Just like he has in the last 2 races!

@HartleyF1

That's not strictly true, Brawn had phenomenal reliability which helped hugely, the cars were pretty bomb proof and the merc engine and diffuser give them a nice performance edge early on.

Reliability has been RBR's achilles heal, RBR have improved their reliability whilst Ferrari and McLaren improved the speed hence why things are tight....plus RBR have tripped over themselves more than once....they do deserve the constructors at least as far as I'm concerned and as someone who genuinely isn't a particular fan of one driver this year I hope Webber gets the WDC.

Whilst the red bulls have been somewhat brittle at times this year, i think you will find that both vettle and webber have BOTH made huge mistakes this year!.
and like him or not Button just doesnt make many mistakes over the course of a season.... so while he aint 'THE' fastest driver, combine his consistancy, speed and his cars reliability, and you have the perfect recipe for a WDC!
Button has the balls, nerves and car to win again this year, at the very least im sure he will finish above hamilton!

Still have 4 races to go gents, the one with the most points will win. To say webber is the best this year is only accurate if you don't count his first 3 of 4 races where he was disastrous (Australia comes to mind in particular). IMHO the best driver this year was Robert Kubica as he made the least amount of mistakes and got the maximum out of his car. I would like to see Webbo of the 5 in contention to win it though....
