F1 » Schumacher: Mine and Nico's cars have not always been the same

Ironically off the back of one of his best performances since his return, under-fire record-breaking F1 legend Michael Schumacher has offered another reason to explain his off-colour form at Mercedes Grand Prix this year...

I really like Schumacher, his amazing talent has always been evident...but he has had enormous good fortune along with some decidedly dodgy race tactics and if he's experiencing the opposite right now then it'll be something he's not altogether aqauinted with. The tide turns and Mercedes will want to protect their investments in the future, so don't assume the entire team is working around Michaels goals, as has been his privilege before ...he's got to live with all the in-team politics and mind games that he was once totally protected from...to fight for the right to get the best bits on his car. I thought he was brilliant in Japan, long may this continue.

Both M.S and Rosbergs cars are at the very least 1 second off the pace. Does not matter who is driving the car, at this point, it can not win. I feel if M.S was in the Red Bull or Ferrari, He would be winning too...so would a few other drivers.

rob. yes, it is most odd. is he complaining that nico is the favoured one, or is he saying that he is the favoured one, and nicos car is even worse? if it is the former, it wouldn't be a good idea to attacking the team like that.

surely from a team perspective, they should endeavour to give both drivers reasonably similar equipment. maybe schumi is asking for changes, and these are just not working.

no doubt there will be more on this subject. haug will probably deny it tomorrow. all very bad publicity for mercedes GP, and for daimler ag

I am not sure what to make of this either, but he was by far the better driver in Japan. I really think that this season is a sighting for next season. It was always going to be average at best in a car designed around Button and the obvious 'tyre' issue. We'll all just have to wait until next season to see what he has to offer. Personally, I think a lot of people will be forced to their words.

Of course he also does not have the raising floor, ABS, traction control and the other driver aids he had in the past. Presumably greater driver input is now required, and perhaps it shows.
