F1 » COMMENT: Best driver of 2010? It isn't one of the title contenders

He has been the sole real interloper in recent years, getting in amongst the sport's grandees and showing many of them up in inferior equipment. All hail F1 2010's brightest shining star - Robert Kubica

why hype up kubica? people get annoyed and feel they have to disagree. we can see he is a top driver and if he ends up at ferrari he will get a fair shot at the title. simple

There is a degree of over hyping, peoples saying he's the fastest driver out there period...how can they know, he hasn't been given a fair stab in a top F1 car...the Renault isn't a top car at the moment.

1) Is he WDC material ?...pretty sure
2) Does he deserve a drive in the top teams ?....yep
3) Is he the best driver in the F1 grid ??? no-one can answer that yet, he hasn't had the pressure Vettel has been subjected to this year for example.

He was the best driver in 2008 as well, but he is still in mediocre team. If he was better looking and/or not Polish he would be in a better team already.

Yeh, I dont think this is the first year this has been said about him.
He needs a top car so we can see if he really is as good as he seems.

As it is Mclaren wont have him for fear of upsetting Hammy, Ferrari have the best proven driver already and red bulls car is so fast they are happy to bank on Vettel being a big thing.
As much as i like Massa, I say out with him and in with the Pole, thatll shake things up.

I agree with rob01. I dont really get the hype about Robert.yes he has been consistent but thats his main strength for the last 3 years.but how can we say that he is fastest when he hasnt competed against a benchmark driver like alonso or hamilton in the same car. I remember similar things being said about sebastian last year. See what pressure has done to him.even his personality seems to be affected by the pressure.he went from being a pleasant young man to a cocky arrogant driver in the eyes of the media. I always believe pressure brings out the best or worst of a driver. We dont know which one is true about robert. So i think its a bit too early for these type of talks. And actualy alonso was voted the best driver of 08 not robert.he came 3rd.
