He's obviously a good driver, you dont win the GP2 series if your not. But Hulkenberg dominated that championship last year and is having a pretty good rookie season. It's a shame that Hulkenberg is going to lose his drive due to money, i think that Hulkenberg is a better driver than what he gets credit for, and i'm sure with a couple years of experience under his belt and a good car he could be challenging for podiums. The GP2 series has proved time and time again that it does provide top class talent.(Hamilton, Rosberg, Glock, Sutil, Kovalainen and many more drivers who havent shown their potential just yet).

Bit harsh Richard... while I agree it is sad to see Williams getting a pay-driver in (I thought those days were over... but this year proved me wrong!)

But Maldonado has at least some skill!

However after seeing how Petrov is doing this year, it is hard to tell if this is an advantage or disadvantage for Williams.... some drivers are good and solid..... you can't say Petrov has done shocking! He has scored some points... just been very erratic

james. that is NOT me! but i agree that it is sad to see williams going for the pay diver. the hulk is delivering the goods, so williams will have to decide if the money associaed with points (using a good driver) is more important than using a pay driver, and not scoring points, thus losing money from fom.

i dont know much about the rev. ronald mcdonald, but there would be no harm in giving him a test, and see what he is capable of.

the commercial dept of the teams should work harder
to sucure the nessasary finance not relying on drivers to find it for them.they have one of the best
marketing tools in the world in f1 .give the drives to drivers who are worthy of it, not just the connected

I wonder just how many teams are in the same position as Williams? This decision could cost them more in lost points than that sack of gold this kid is holding.

Facing hard facts if Williams needs the bucks to keep the doors open then giving up what you have may have to the gamble.

Maldonado just may turn out to be another Lewis Hamilton, another Hot foot, jumping Jack Flash right of the box....

William's gamble..Me I love playing the Lottery
never won. Fingers cross, maybe next time..
