F1 » Age is nothing, says Ecclestone on 80th birthday

Bernie Ecclestone: Age is nothing. People make me laugh when they talk about one year to the next year. One day you're one age and a day later you're another age. It's all nonsense. I'm like Obama, I like to move forward.

Red Bull marked the occasion in Korea with a mischievous present, a Zimmer frame (seen in the picture) with a RBR front wing and a F1 style steering wheel with the buttons labelled Viagra, nurse and Pasquale, BE is posing with his favourite driver.

Bernie may have made F1 what it is but he still has done very well (too well) for himself out of it. Plus F1 is no longer a 'sport' - instead its a 'cut throat commercial jungle' and there still is too much wrong with it. While we need safe cars, the circuits nowadays are the worst Ive seen. There is no character at all and what happened to the Hockenheim & Imola Circuits??? As for the drivers and teams, least said the better. And while he may or maynot be bankrolling the new teams (Virgin etc) whats the point when they are a mile off the place?? (without a single point to their name) Maybe its time to retire after all Bernie and give your job to one of the many jobless who may just be able to inject a bit more life into F1
