F1 » Webber: I tried my absolute hardest

Mark Webber: There have been quite a few emotions over the last couple of weeks; when you come so close to the top and just miss out, it's a shame.

Every driver has streaks of good fortune and Mark's run through the middle of the season set him up well for the finale but ultimately faded and let him down at the checkers.

Good effort though and if nothing else he sucked Alo into an early pit stop that effectively gave Vet the title.

Regardless of whether RBR could have or would have given him more support through the season he put in a lot of strong performances that underscore why he still has a contract, and I hope next year his resolve and the RB7 are up for another good fight.

The better man won today but imo Webber improves his image with that heartfelt congrats to his teammate. It's a bitter pill to swallow but Webber is known as one of the F1 hardmen and if RBR delivers next season he will be a hard man to beat. That said Vettel is still developing and imo still underestimated... it will be very interesting next season.

Very disappointed, but unfortunately his mistake in Korea was the deciding moment in his championship bid. I'm shocked and amazed that Vettel managed to steal the championship, everything that needed to happen for him DID happen and that's pretty amazing. Good job to him for seizing the moment and I guess Red Bull is proven right in their "let them fight it out" attitude, much to my chagrin!

Mark displayed a great spirit of sportsmanship and really made his countrymen proud. He also taught a lesson to all those 'moaning' and 'whining' losers in the sports a great example! Hope they take a leaf out of his story. All I would like to say to him is:

Good luck for the 2011 title :)

Honesty is THE BEST POLICY. If Vettel had swopped places with Webber last weekend they would NOT have won the drivers championship ! Are Red Bull are to be admired for being pure racers or were they just lucky?( in hindsight the majority of us must eat humble pie)Don't forget they favoured Vettel all year over Mark Webber. Webber lost his title himself in Korea and he knows it
