F1 » Alonso: Losing hurts, but doesn't erase the positives

He might have been left with 'a bitter taste' in the mouth after missing out on a third F1 drivers' title in Abu Dhabi last weekend, but Fernando Alonso insists the end result does not detract from a 'wonderful' year with Ferrari

Since when were Minardi in a position to tell, most of their drivers paid, few were much good.

With a load of spanish journalists feeding off the populist frenzy the myth of Alonso the great he is credited with all sorts of amazing things, most way off the truth.

Fancy a good laugh, use Google Chrome's translate page facility and read some spanish F1 forums. You will see what I mean, dodgy translations of phrases just make it funnier still.

Even the last race wasn't so good as he dreamt of, his first year at Ferrari has been really interesting. Surely he'll be on top next year and a well developed Ferrari will be something to worry about for the rest of drivers. Keep going Alonso.

Hmmmm. Positives. Well, there's destroying the confidence of your "team mate" just so you can gain a position. Pushing too hard in FP3 so you can't get to qualifying. Only having one go at overtaking an opponent in the most important race of the season before giving up. Only having one go at overtaking your "team mate" before calling in team orders.

Calvin - What you fail to realise is that the renault had a 12MPH advantage to the Ferrarai in the last race
and only 4MPH to the Maclaren

As to overtaking your team mate
no one has done it this season,
only time its happened is when they tell the guy in fron to slow down as if to save fuel

or the guy has engine or tyre trouble
so dont get to excited

ps the double defuser is killing overtaking and it disterbs the air in front of the car behined

unless you've got a much faster car its not easy to pass

get your facts right first

Abu Dhabi GP - Fantastic season ends in disappointment
Ferrari says
"There are some pundits in the sport who believe that when a championship is going down to the wire at the final race, then even if you are fighting one of the contenders for the title for a place in the race, you let him by. This was evidently not something that Petrov believed in and, well within the sporting regulations, he defended his position to the end."

Alonso, what goes around comes around. Does 2007 ring any bells when you had to support your team mate to the title in the last race?
Alonso you've relied on your team mates throughout your career, some to the extent of crashing so you can win! I don't doubt you are a good driver, I only wonder if you are as good without team orders. Lets face it you always want a no 2 team mate as part of your contract.
Man up man!

Reflecting back at this seasion.. I am getting a feeling that the entire F1 show we are having is sort of a well directed drama, just like we have in WWF wrestling competition! Any one else feels the same?

Mr Alonso
did not have the highest number of poles
did not the have the highest number of fastest laps
did not lead the highest number of laps
did not have the highest number of points
did never drop out of the lead even once so that his win was gifted to someone else
Ok, it can be argued whether Korea was gifted to him, and including Germany, still was not the single leader with most wins

so can someone explain why he apparently should have been the champion?????

Maybe he was the best taxi driver as he would trundle along, and that too according to himself, with consistency. Ferrari is paying him the highest salary on the paddock, he should talk to Villneuve or Irvine to find out what he needs to do with it.
