F1 » Vettel: Don't compare me to Schumacher!

As the magnitude of what he has achieved begins to sink in, newly-crowned F1 2010 World Champion Sebastian Vettel insists he should not be compared to his record-breaking countryman Michael Schumacher - and evinces a possible long-term future away from Red Bull Racing...

Vettel he did great... and he is a better driver than Webber in speed... However he did have the best car by far for his 1st WDC... MSC's Benetton was no way as competitive in comparison... (if one was to compare)and even his first WDC with a Fezza that was a pile...

With the start of 2010, we thought that we were in for the most boring race season in memory, or for that matter history. After 2008's dramatic finish, we thought we had seen it all in regards to dramatic finishes, but we learned there is still some excitement to be had. It seemed as if no driver was immune to some sort of issues this year, with consistent top ten qualifiers missing out on Q3 and or crashing out of the races, it seemed anything was possible. For many the defining moment of the season was Ferrari's contraversial move to make Massa allow Alonso to win the race in Germany, a bitter disappointment to many fans, but the pivotal moment probably came in Turkey.

It harkened back to the days of Senna and Prost, and no those of you who aren't overly familiar with Alain Marie Pascal Prost, let me refresh your memory. Prost has the second most Grand Prix wins, and third most Championships in F1 history, and with statistics like these you would wonder why people don't go on about

Looks like we have a new golden boy in town and he is a humble and gracious winner... unlike that other one that was touted to wrest control from the greatest F1 driver of all time Schumi. oh well here today gone tomorrow like they say.

well done Vittel

Wow! There is some humility in there somewhere! I have to say I was disappointed that Webber failed in the effort to become WDC2010, esp after mistakes and blame from Vettel mid-season. But still glad that the Arrogant Alonso was put in his place, Vettel is a great driver and seems to be a decent human being, which is what F1 needs! Great job Vettel! You'll get 'em next year Webber! Well maybe, the old man Schumi may be in much better equipment next year!

Ha Ha Ha.. Vettel is no way near Schumi.. in both talent and merit! Both are German.. thats it!
Just like we have Massa/Rubens from Brazil.. doesn't mean that they are comparable to Ayrton!

schumi could not be likened to senna. senna could not be likened to hill, etc etc. all drivers are individuals, and it is pointless to liken them to anyone else. different cars, diferent tracks, different parameters. vettel is vettel and should be accepted as such/
