What fantastic news for the millions of poor people in Venezuela, as the Kleptocrat Socialist Chavez pockets all their cash while the country's uninvested, neglected infrastructure crumbles, they cannot even generate enough power for themselves.

Should be fun watching the "Socialists" enjoy the glitzy glamour of F1, it has to be better than listening to El Presidente's rambling rants about the Great Capitalist Satan USA.

@ sixtenths,

Please take your rant some other place, not here..
Please sing you song some place, any place but not here. We are just a hand full of peons who enjoy F1.

Most of us know about the world political problems. This is sport, that political thing should be set a side. We come here
for entertainment, not much more.

sixtenths, your rant would be welcome some other place, or time, but not here. This is not the place.

This site and forum is about motor racing
nothing more.

Try the web, or better still, Time Square near 42nd Street.
You may need a soap box and a Megaphone
Political things are really welcome, 24/7.

Whilst it's a pity for Hulk to be debarked on funding grounds (with the Williams team struggling for survival and growth) despite having shown interesting perspectives, as a GP2 title owner, Maldonado has every right to enter F1 on merit just like his predecessor.

OTOH, I hope for Nico that he can rebound somewhere.

@ Jose,

I am sorry but I would like to hear all points of view and not have your narrow sense of what attracts fans to F1 imposed on the rest of us. It is a real issue for all F1 followers that a pay driver is being (in part) sponsored by a State that can't even adequately provide for its own people. I take nothing away from Maldanado who genuinely deserves this opportunity.

@ Googolplex,
Thanks for the post...
Please don't miss understand. I'm well aware of whats going on in F1 and the world sports industry...
I see this money, sport thing, almost everyday here in the U.S. Unemployment at the bursting level, children (1/6) going hungry everyday. Millions beaning payed to some dude who can only hit a baseball. Sport complexes costing zillion and little on nothing on the real problem of people.

F1 is not exempted, zillion payed to join the circus, surely I wonder just how some country finds the dollars to play this game, and believe me when I say this, the money could be better spent elsewhere.
This is one of the very reason I didn't visit Brazil's race...I'm not blind. I see things, things that's hard accept..

Crash forum is about motor racing, nothing political...

Best we (see things) who care should use other places on the net, simpley more bang for the buck..

Agan thanks, Googolplex

@ Nanbawan,

I have to differ with you here...Maldonado
will be driving for Williams next season.
Not on Merritt, but the simple reason he has a truck full of gold.

Merritt, or talent be dam, money rules.
We know the talent of Mr. Hulk, and the possibility of what he can do next season, about Maldonado, we know next to nothing.

Sir. Frank's gamble. Was the new guy worth the money??
