F1 » Tost casts doubt over Toro Rosso driver line-up

Judging by comments made by Scuderia Toro Rosso team principal Franz Tost, Sébastien Buemi perhaps ought to be looking at his options for 2011, with suggestions that Red Bull reserve driver Daniel Ricciardo could oust the young Swiss ace from his seat

more spinning of innocent quotes.

shock horror, team boss says driver struggled at end of season when said driver actually did struggle at end of season! stop press! this must mean he is out and his career is over!

usually it takes crash a month or two after the season ends to really start scraping the barrel for stories, it seems this year they're rolling the sh*t out much earlier.

and 'thinly-veiled' is another term usually reserved for the tabloids, along with 'sources close to...'

Buemi has had long enough to prove he's F1 material, I could never understand why people still rate him anyway, his career in the junior formula's has been lacklustre to say the least.. sorry mate, move over and let Ricciardo (who's actually achieved something) have a pop..

Not rocket science. Dump Bummy and the Spanish bloke, neither of whom have shown that they have the necessary speed, judgement or consistency and hire The Hulk & Ricciardo. Otherwise stop moaning and support the drivers you thought were good enough not so long ago.

Towards the end of this article when quoting Tost Crash refers to him as "a former grand prix driver himself" Tost is not and never has been a grand prix driver. Get your facts right Crash (Looks like its going to be a long winter)

sc813. buemi has certainly not been too bad, and as for algy, he is very young, and has shown elements of speed. i wonder how fast you would be if put in an f1 car at the age of 20?? both these drivers deserve another season, but i do agree that ricciardo is a good up and coming driver. maybe a testing drive for str with a iew to a seat in 2012??

I think str should give buemia chance during the season, but if he can't outperform (or at least mirror) alguersuari half-way through, he should be fired and ricciardo should be given a chance.

Plus, it is great that some of these young drivers are given an opportunity to shine in F1.

Kobayashi, Perez, Alguersuari, Maldonado (soon), Di Resta (soon), Senna, Petrov, Hulkenberg and Aleshin and Ricciardo (hopefully). This is what F1 should be about.

why did buemi get the job in the first placE. They should have given the spot to GP2 champion giorgio pantano.

He could have done well, certaily better than some swiss rookie who was middling in GP2.

the same bull crap Tost has put other drivers through. Bourdais can attest. Crap wagons with high expectations. It was my understanding that Toro was for sale. And chime in Richard as he will probally spout off a few vettel quotes for his superman.
