Cant see Proton/Group Lotus wanting to stick around for the long term. They are a company looking to promote their brand, nothing more and those teams never seem to last (Toyota,Honda in recent years). It seems to me that at least Tony is passionate about going racing....as was Colin Chapman!

Tony Fernandes will be forced to sell his team, support in Malaysia dying. Two of big three want to exit no money no team no future Tony only passionate to be centre stage just showman not racing fan. When Gascoyne take all his money he run away.

I'm just still confused. Glad the colours are going to be different at least.

It's alright having Vodafone McLaren Mercedes and Mercedes GP Petronas because everyone refers to them as McLaren and Mercedes.

Same with the RedBull teams - Red Bull and Torro Rosso are distinctly different names.

Now we have Lotus Renault GP and Team Lotus Renault. What do you call them? You can't call Kubica's team Renault cause that's like calling Torro Rosso Minardi, or calling Mercedes, Brawn, or even Honda.

For the casual fan, it is just all a bit confusing!

Actually, the Lotus that raced in 2010 announced they would be in Black and Gold on the 11TH NOVEMBER.... A MONTH AGO!!

Stop spreading your bs lies.

I really like the green color, looks
like the old UK special, Lotus.
Now if you can get some competitive hardware under that ton of paint, along with a very good young hot shoe, maybe Hulk and Petrov, up the grid you will go.

Tony Fernandes announced Black & Gold livery to everyone first... FACT!

Gerard Lopez and Dany Bahar secretly decided on Black & Gold before Tony (apparently), but kept it to themselves and not told anyone about it, and just left everyone to believe that they had indeed decided before Tony Fernandes, coz they assume we all can read their minds... FACT!

I dont think Lopez and Bahar kept the plans to themselves. They were asking Proton for $50m few months ago. Surely the proposal was well documented possibly with name, logo and colours already chosen. Those things go for approval by the board of directors, finance or marketing departments, lawyers etc. before made public. It leaked to Fernandez in the process.
