Will the Fia also be telling the mechanics what time they can go to the toilet to.
To much interferance from the FIA nowadays me thinks.

Also check the small print were it says Ferrari are exempt from these restrictions.

mechanics working trought the night is a consequence of FIA rule limiting number of mechanics.

Another stupid rule to compensate stupids rules.

I think F1 is the only sport where his gouverning body try participant not to spend the money they've got into the sport. STUPID!

Oh Dear, there must be another control freak in the FIA?

Now how about doing something useful and banning telemetry and the swarm of PC engineers seen at the back of the pit garages?

Why not force the driver to make more decisions. it might be more interesting?

Burning the midnight oil is part and parcel of motorsport from Karting upwards.

I'm wondering if anyone will bring up a possible safety implication to all this.
E.g. A driver destroys car in FP2 and the mechanics then need to get it ready for FP3/Qualifying - surely it would be better to have had a car (which at the end of the day, no matter how good the car design / team is, every F1 car is a design experiment) where everyone is confident it hasn't been rebuilt in a rush and have had time to make sure everything works correctly...???

I can see where the desire for this may have come from - lots of reports this year of Red Bull and other teams making changes to the car between practice/quali days working into/through the evening...

I wonder why the FIA don't offer some kind of reward for such meddling...... something like............ one constructors championship point for every one of the four that are not used?

F1 is going from bad to worse, it is fast becoming a beaureucratic nightmare with all these rules and regulations. Give it a rest already!

No testing, no working on the car, no nothing! At this rate by next year free practice on fridays will be cancelled, the year after on saturdays, then the year after that qualifying will be banned and grid positions will be sorted using last race's position, and then in 5 years racing will be banned and all will be decided with drivers playing Gran Turismo on a PS3.

Seriously, this is fecking madness.
