F1 » Petrov: I'm much better-prepared going into F1 2011

Vitaly Petrov had to wait a long time before being officially reconfirmed at what is now Lotus Renault GP for F1 2011 - but he insists he will repay his team's faith in him with interest

That is not my point 50. Hate to bring this up, but Button was pretty much nothing for 9 or 10 years with high funded teams. Now he is a WDC following an independant season. Will not happen again.
Petrov was a rookie, period, driving for a unliked and a non'high funded'team. Renualt probably made more money selling engines and were considering dropping F1 if you remember.
Sorry, but thought he did a good job considering it all. Nite all and to all a good nite..

Don't forget the old saying in racing ......... it's easier to teach a fast guy not to crash than it is to teach a slow guy to go fast.

I reckon he's had a good season and deserves another crack even though he crashed a lot

Button didn't need umpteen million sponsorship dollars to his name to secure a seat, not ever...please don't say, 'but things have changed'...Frank Williams knew damned well that he had a future WDC on his hands, BMW knew this also and actively promoted him through Berger. Williams clung to his contract for years and years and Button even had to be bought out of it. Anyone that says Button would never have been a WC but for a unique set of circumstances is crazy..what was crazy was that nobody gave him a suitable car for so many years PLUS Button chased the dollar as opposed to such a car. Petrof next year will amount to mid pack as much as this and this could be his best chance to impress..I've seen nothing remotely approaching the aptitude of a genuine front runner but given good sponsors and support, he could always aspire to be a suitable number 2.

Paddles - so you think comrade Petrov is fast. Please enlighten me which race do you think he was showing those fast spurts of brilliance? You can even mention the once he did not finished. I also think that comparing Petrov to Button is somewhat ridiculous even though I'm not a biggest Jenny's fan.
